Summary Information

The project is in Innisfail on Mamu Country, within the Wet Tropics and aims to generate Cassowary Credits under the Rainforest Replanting Method.  Pending approval as a stacked project, it will deliver Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) under the Clean Energy Regulator’s Environmental Plantings Method.

 

This dual-credit initiative will be implemented through the following rainforest biodiversity benefit activities:

• Native rainforest regeneration on degraded land at Ninds Creek.
• Engagement of Rainforest Aboriginal Peoples (Mamu) as contractors and knowledge holders.
• Education and demonstration activities with local schools and landholders.
